In the past, cruise ships have been typically associated with older, retired couples. But over the past couple of years, this business has done quite a bit of rebranding to appeal to people of all ages – including your little kiddos!
Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic
The first kid-friendly cruise line any parent is bound to think of is the Disney Cruise Line. Its entire fleet is filled with hidden Mickeys to find and characters to meet. And that’s on top of Disney Magic’s four different kids’ clubs, nursery, and pool area with a waterslide. There’s also the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, which can give your child a Cinderella-style transformation! And we can’t forget the entertainment: three Broadway-style Disney-themed shows!
Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Vista
Complete with Skyride, an aerial bike-riding experience over the top of the ship and the ocean, Carnival Vista sets its bar high for entertaining its guests of every age. In addition to that thriller, there is also SkyCourse, a top-deck ropes course; at-sea mini golf; and WaterWorks, Carnival’s first onboard waterpark!
Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas
Looking to splurge a bit on your family cruise? Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas has a two-story Ultimate Family Suite, complete with an indoor slide to connect the two floors! If that wasn’t enough, the suite also comes with an air hockey table, private jacuzzi, table tennis, video game system, Lego wall, and a climbing wall! It’s basically any kid’s dream room.
Even if you don’t plan on booking the Ultimate Family Suite, the Symphony of the Seas is still very kid-friendly. With glow-in-the-dark laser tag, two surf simulators, and the longest slide at sea, your kids will be able to have the time of their lives.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Bliss
I bet you never in a million years would think of building a race track at sea – but the designers behind Norwegian Bliss did. At the top of the ship, there is a two-story go-kart track that children and adults alike can speed through at up to 30 miles per hour! Oh, and don’t forget about the waterslides and laser tag!
Princess Cruise Line’s Royal Princess
The Royal Princess is one of the newest additions to the Princess Cruise Line fleet. The kid-friendly highlight is definitely the Jr.CHEF@Sea Program, a program through which young chefs can participate in hands-on food preparation workshops with some of the actual chefs onboard the Royal Princess! They’ll even get a certificate of completion at the end! On top of that, there are also multiple kid-friendly food options, a glass Seawalk over the ocean, and three kids’ clubs, ensuring that your little ones will have a blast!
